Explore the beautiful West Kootenays with a leisurely drive around Kootenay Lake and Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park. Drive along the scenic mountain roads and discover the friendly communities from Nelson, through New Denver to Kaslo. Then continue along the shores of Kootenay Lake to Balfour and enjoy the magnificent views from the world’s longest free ferry ride. Once you arrive in Kootenay Bay, meander beside the lake to Creston, and over the Kootenay Pass (at 1535 m, it is the highest pass in Canada) through Salmo, and back to beautiful Ymir.
